Barwin Talks Senior Bowl, NFL

Last Friday Bearcat Sports Page.com caught up with Connor Barwin before his work out in the UC weight room. Here is the interview in it's entirety. We talked about the Senior Bowl and looking toward the NFL.

So far from what we have heard Connor has impressed and confused the NFL scout watching him. Why confused? Everybody wants him, they just aren't sure what side of the ball to play him on.
Like most players in this position Conner is not taking classes this quarter so he can concentrate on preparing for the NFL, We will continue to follow him on this journey. He is staying in Cincinnati to train and when we asked him if we continue to talk to him before the draft,"sure anytime, you know I'm always willing".

Senior Bowl: It's no Vacation

Day three of practice for the Senior Bowl is in the books.  This week is no vacation for the players, or coaches.  This is a football game and it's business as usual.  " We try to give them a week that is as close to a true week of preparation in the NFL, last night we had meetings until 11:00", said Bengals assistant defensive back coach Louie Cioffi in a phone interview with Bearcat Sports Page.com.  "We try to see who can pick up the most without totally bogging them down, then we hope they digest it enough to get into a comfortable position that lets their natural ability come out", he added.
Wednesday after practice Bearcat Sports Page.com caught up with Bengal's head coach Marvin Lewis and got his thought on what's going on in Clifton.
Again we want to thank WKRG Sports Director Randy Patrick fro helping us with video and interviews.  For more info on the Senior Bowl check out the Bengals website.  Geoff Hobson is in Mobile with the coaching staff.   His daily observations can be seen by CLICKING HERE.

See What's Going On at Senior Week

Through out the day we have been getting updates on how the Bearcats are doing at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Al. Now it's time to show you what's going on. Here is some video from today's practice and some comments from a couple of Bearcat Seniors.

Bearcat Sports Page.com is one of the few places you will find complete coverage like this. We want to thank Randy Patrick, the sports director at WKRG for his help today getting us video of the Bearcats in action and doing the interviews. Ironically, Randy went to McNicolas High School and was more than happy to talk with fellow Rocket Kevin Huber. It turns out they know some of the same people.....in Cincinnati, imagine that. We can't thank Randy enough and hopefully he will be able to send us more as the week of practice continues on. Randy is an experienced sportscaster, to get his help on a project like this is tremendous. Thanks again Randy. To find out more about Randy: Click Here.

Underwood Done, Barwin Ready to Play

Saturday afternoon in Houston, Brandon Underwood played his final game of college football.  The senior defensive back was chosen to play in the East West Shrine Game.  Underwood finished with 4 tackles, 3 assisted and 1 solo.    The broadcast team recognized Brandon early in the first quarter as a one of their "top 5 defensive prospects" for the East squad.
Up next is the Senior Bowl where 5 more Bearcats will have the opportunity to improve their value with the NFL scouts.  Connor Barwin spoke to us before he left for Moblie Sunday morning.  He says that it's great for UC to have this many seniors in post season games.

Later this week we will have the entire interview we taped with Connor this past Friday afternoon in the UC weight room.  We talk about a number of subjects including playing for the Bengals.   Marvin Lewis and his staff  are coaching the North squad that includes the UC players.
