Playing from Behind, Being in 7th, and St. John's

Wednesday night the Bearcats enter the game against St John's tied for 7th place in the Big East Conference with a 6-5 record. A place few thought they would be after starting off 0-3. Coach Cronin is this where you want to be?

The last time the Bearcats saw St John's they had to fight back from a double digit deficit. That wasn't the only time this team has dug themselves a whole and climbed out of it.
Just because UC beat St. John's earlier a few weeks ago, does not mean that they are going to look past The Red Storm. In this league there are no days off , and no easy opponents.
It can't be said enough, this is a tough league and team are going to beat each other. Look at the two teams below UC that went from being in the top 25 to 11th in their own league.
A few weeks ago Coach Cronin was telling his team to ignore the "negativity" outside the program when things weren't going so good. Now the pendulum has swung the other direction. How do they handle the "pats on the back"?

Few thought UC would beat Georgetown twice. On the otrher hand, many think they can beat St. John's twice. The game in New York was different. Each team lost a player and The Red Storm had a different player at point guard.
With a trip to Pittsburgh up next this is a game that must be won. How will this team respond to their recent success? Can they continue to get better like they have been?
