Ugly Wins Count Too
Mick Cronin says it every week, "defense puts you in the position to win games". He also says, " you have to win ugly sometimes to win in the Big East Conference". Both were true today. In the first half a 23-2 run put the Bercats in a position to win. Did they have trouble toward the end, yes. But... that defensive stand that helped build the first half lead was the difference. At the end of the game it was "ugly", but an "ugly win" always beats an "ugly loss". Deonta Vaughn certainly helped the cause with 5 three pointers in the first half during that run. From Chicago the team flys to Providence for their game against the Friars Monday night. Big road win 59-55. Once again holding an opponent under 60 points.
