Swim Team Helps a Fellow Swimmer

The UC Swim Team is participating in an event Thursday afternoon to help raise awareness of cancer and to raise money to fight the deadly disease. It's a nation wide event sponsored by Carleton College in honor of a teammate they lost in 2006.

The Carleton College swimming and diving teams are sponsoring the third annual Ted Mullin Hour of Power Relay for cancer research on Thursday, Nov. 6 beginning at 4 p.m. (5 p.m. Eastern/ or 5 p.m. Mountain/4 p.m. Pacific) in honor of former teammate Edward H. “Ted” Mullin, who passed away from a rare soft-tissue cancer in September 2006.

So, UC swimmers will be in the pool Thursday afternoon participating in the hour long relay of continuous swimming. Head Coach Monty Hopkins has received an e-mail from Ted Mullins mother thanking him for UC's participation in the event.
